Tickets for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships will go on sale to the general public on June 1. However, American Express cardholders have the opportunity to purchase tickets early, starting on May 28.

The U.S. Open Tennis Championships, held annually in New York City, are considered the crown jewel of the American tennis scene and the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the year. In 2024, the event is scheduled to take place from August 26 to September 8.

Typically, American Express and Chase offer credit cardholders certain perks during the tournament, including access to members-only lounges and suites. This year, one of those perks includes the chance to snag a seat before the general public can.

Early Access Ticket Details

From May 28 at 9 a.m. EDT through June 1 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, Amex cardholders can purchase tickets online through Ticketmaster, the official ticketing partner of the U.S. Open.

  • Ticket Limits: Amex cardholders are allotted a maximum of eight tickets per day for both day and evening sessions, for a total of 16 session tickets each day.
  • Ground Admission Passes: Customers can purchase up to eight ground admission passes per day during both the early access period and the public sale.

Please note that all sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges permitted.

Additional Perks for Cardholders

In addition to early access to tickets, Amex will likely offer cardholders its usual on-the-ground perks. However, a spokesperson could not confirm the specific perks for 2024 at the time of publication.

Last year, Amex offered:

  • Complimentary bag check services
  • Access to the Centurion Suite, which The Platinum Card® from American Express and Centurion cardholders could reserve ahead of time
  • Access to a lounge for other cardholders on a first-come, first-served basis

How to Purchase Early Access Tickets

  1. Visit Ticketmaster: Go to the official Ticketmaster website during the presale period.
  2. Log In with Your Amex Card: Ensure your American Express card is linked to your Ticketmaster account.
  3. Select Your Tickets: Choose up to eight tickets per session, per day.
  4. Complete Your Purchase: Follow the prompts to complete your transaction.

Reminder for the General Public Sale

Tickets will be available to the general public starting on June 1. However, taking advantage of the early access period as an Amex cardholder will provide the best chance to secure desirable seats and passes.
