Revolut Credit Card Benefits, Explained: 10% Back, Then 2%

Hands holding a plain card by espresso and a passport at a sunny cafe, weighing revolut credit card benefits abroad

For most U.S. Revolut members, the app has been a place to hold and move money, not a place to borrow. That is starting to change. A Revolut credit card issued by Cross River Bank is appearing in the app for some existing members, according to Doctor of Credit, and the revolut credit card benefits are heavily front-loaded.

New cardholders get 10% cash back on purchases for three months, capped at $150, plus 0% APR on purchases for six months. After that, the card settles into 2% back with no annual fee. The fine print puts real limits on both numbers.

The short answer on revolut credit card benefits

No annual fee, 0% on purchases for six months, 10% back worth up to $150 early on, then a flat 2%. You need an open Revolut account in good standing to hold it.

Here is what the Revolut and Cross River Bank card agreement, effective July 1, 2026, spells out:

FeatureCard agreement terms
Annual feeNone
Intro purchase APR0% on purchases for 6 months from account opening
Intro cash back10% on purchases for the first 3 months, up to $150 total
Ongoing cash back2% on purchases, up to $500 in rewards per month
Regular purchase APRVariable: Prime + 11.49% up to Prime + 26.49%
Late payment feeUp to $25
Foreign transaction fee0% to 1% (up to 0.5% in market hours, up to 1% outside them)
Grace period28 days minimum on new purchases if you pay in full

How the cash back actually pays out

The 10% rate lasts three months from approval or until you collect $150, whichever happens first. Because $1,500 x 10% = $150, the cap kicks in after $1,500 of purchases. Anything you spend beyond that inside the intro window drops to the regular 2%.

Timing matters too. Intro rewards arrive in one lump when the three-month window ends. After that, 2% rewards post as each billing cycle closes, hitting your card balance first, with any leftover sent to your Revolut account.

The 2% rate has its own ceiling of $500 in rewards a month. Reaching it takes $25,000 in monthly purchases ($25,000 x 2% = $500), so few households will notice. Returns reverse their rewards, and unredeemed cash back is lost if you close the account.

Using a Revolut credit card abroad: the weekend markup

Travelers should read this part of the revolut credit card benefits twice. A charge made while currency markets are open costs up to 0.5%. A charge made outside market hours, which the agreement defines as 5:00 PM ET Friday through 6:00 PM ET Sunday, costs up to 1%.

So a Saturday dinner in Lisbon could carry up to 1% extra, while the same meal on a Tuesday would carry up to half that. Our explainer on how foreign transaction fees work shows how small percentages add up.

Revolut credit card requirements and credit limits

The core requirement is an existing Revolut account in good standing. It can only be used for personal, family or household spending; business use and gambling are barred.

Your credit limit is set when the account is created, and Revolut can raise or lower it later with notice. No minimum or typical limit is published.

What the revolut credit card benefits mean for your wallet

If you pay in full every month, most of the value sits in that first $1,500 of spending. Routing it through the card during the first three months returns $150, a 10% return that is five times what the card pays later. After that, the revolut credit card benefits settle at a flat-rate level, like the cards in our piece on what cash-back cards do well.

If you are planning a large purchase, the six months at 0% may matter more than the cash back. One late payment can end it early, and afterward the rate becomes the Prime Rate plus 11.49 to 26.49 percentage points.

If you travel overseas often, the up-to-1% foreign fee means the revolut credit card benefits look better at home than on the road. A separate card for trips is cleaner.

Common misconceptions about revolut credit card benefits

  • The 10% rate is not open-ended. It ends at $150 earned or three months, whichever comes first.
  • No annual fee does not mean no fees. Late payments cost up to $25, and foreign purchases can cost up to 1%.

What we don’t know yet

We could not find a public launch announcement from Revolut, and the rollout appears limited to some current members. The agreement lists no cash advance APR or typical limits. It is also unclear whether the revolut credit card benefits, especially the 10% offer, will stay the same if the card opens to more people.

Revolut credit card questions

Does the Revolut credit card have an annual fee?

No. The card agreement lists no annual fee, although late payments can cost up to $25 and foreign purchases can carry a fee of up to 1%.

What is the Revolut credit card limit?

Revolut sets each limit when the account is created and has not published a minimum or typical amount. It can raise or lower the limit later with notice.

Is the Revolut credit card available in the US?

Only in a limited way so far. Some existing Revolut members are reportedly seeing the card in the app, and an account in good standing is required.

Should you take the Revolut credit card if it shows up in your app?

It makes sense if you already bank with Revolut, pay in full, and have roughly $1,500 of planned spending for the next three months; the revolut credit card benefits deliver their best value right there, with a useful 0% cushion on top. Frequent international travelers and anyone chasing more than 2% long term can pass. Treat it as a three-month sprint bolted onto an ordinary daily card.
