Carnival CHEERS Package Price Is Changing: What It Means for Cruisers

For years, the carnival cheers package price was one of the few fixed numbers in cruise planning: the same daily rate whether you booked a quick weekend getaway or a full week at sea. That stops on December 1, 2026, when Carnival moves its drink packages and Wi-Fi plans to dynamic pricing.

Carnival says the new carnival cheers package price will depend on sailing length, itinerary and season, with Wi-Fi following the same rules. No new numbers are out yet, so anyone with a cruise booked is guessing at a cost that used to be printed on the website.

The flat rate ends December 1

The announcement came alongside the launch of FunPacks, a new set of pre-cruise bundles. Carnival framed the shift in one line: pricing “will vary based on sailing length, itinerary and season.” Nothing more specific has been released about how those three factors get weighed.

Carnival has not confirmed whether this is permanent or a trial, or whether a package bought before December 1 keeps today’s rate.

What the carnival cheers package price looks like today

Here is the current pricing that dynamic rates will replace. Every beverage package carries a 20% service charge on top of the listed daily rate, so the right-hand column shows what you actually pay per person, per day.

PackageListed daily rateWith 20% service charge
CHEERS! (bought before sailing)$69.95$83.94
CHEERS! (bought onboard)$74.95$89.94
CHEERS! Zero Proof (before sailing)$29.99$35.99
Bottomless Bubbles, adult$11.99$14.39
Bottomless Bubbles, child$6.95$8.34

The math adds up fast. On a seven-night sailing, the pre-cruise CHEERS! rate works out to $587.58 per adult once the service charge is included. Waiting until you board adds $6 a day, or $42 over that same week.

Keep those totals handy. Once dynamic rates arrive, comparing your sailing’s carnival cheers package price against them is the only way to tell whether you got a better or worse deal.

Wi-Fi plans are part of the change too

Internet packages fall under the same December 1 switch. Carnival’s own internet plans page currently lists these daily rates:

  • Social Wi-Fi: from $20.40 before sailing, $22.00 onboard
  • Value Wi-Fi: from $23.80 before sailing, $26.00 onboard, or $28.00 for a 24-hour plan
  • Premium Wi-Fi: from $25.50 before sailing, $28.00 onboard, or $35.00 for a 24-hour plan

Buying ahead currently saves between $1.60 and $2.50 a day depending on the tier, a small gap that dynamic pricing could widen or erase.

Who feels this most

Peak-season cruisers. If season is a pricing factor, holiday weeks and summer school breaks are the obvious candidates for higher rates. Families who can only travel then have the least room to dodge an increase.

Short-cruise passengers. Sailing length is the other named factor. Carnival has not said which direction it cuts, so the carnival cheers package price on a three-night weekend could end up lower or higher per day than on a week-long trip.

Budget planners. A fixed carnival cheers package price made it easy to budget months in advance. That certainty goes away, and anyone pricing a trip for a group will have to check each sailing separately. Our breakdown of earlier Carnival price increases shows how quickly onboard extras can climb.

FunPacks: the bundle Carnival wants you to book now

FunPacks build on Carnival’s older Value packages. There are four versions: Kidstarter, Zero Proof, Social and Epic, mixing Wi-Fi, drinks, shore excursions, specialty dining, and discounts on spa and photo purchases. Carnival puts the savings at 35% to 55% versus buying each piece separately, though no dollar prices were published alongside that claim.

The Social version includes a new drink option, CHEERS! Social, with unlimited non-alcoholic drinks plus three alcoholic drinks a day. That suits a moderate drinker who would never get full value from the regular package.

The window is tight. FunPacks can only be bought from October 14 to October 30, 2026, through My Cruise Manager, and they apply to cruises leaving between October 31, 2026 and the end of 2027. Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, called them “our largest collection of packages to date.”

What we still don’t know

  • The new rates themselves, for any ship or sailing
  • Whether packages purchased before December 1 are locked at current prices
  • Whether dynamic pricing is permanent or a limited test
  • Whether the 20% service charge stays the same under the new model
  • How much weight sailing length, itinerary and season each carry

Anyone who also brings their own wine aboard should check our guide to bringing alcohol on a cruise ship, since that can change whether a package is worth buying at all.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Carnival CHEERS package worth it?

It depends on how much you drink. At today’s pre-cruise rate you pay $83.94 a day with the service charge, so divide that by what you usually spend per drink onboard to see how many drinks it takes to break even.

Will my CHEERS package price change if I already bought it?

Carnival has not said. It has not confirmed whether packages purchased before December 1, 2026 keep the current rate, so save your receipt and watch for an update in My Cruise Manager.

How much is Carnival Wi-Fi per day?

Right now pre-cruise plans start at $20.40 for Social, $23.80 for Value and $25.50 for Premium. Those prices also move to dynamic pricing from December 1, 2026.

Should you lock in the carnival cheers package price before December?

If you already know you want the full package on a 2027 sailing, buying before December 1 is the lower-risk move: you know today’s carnival cheers package price, and you don’t know tomorrow’s. Light drinkers and anyone sailing in a quiet off-season week can afford to wait and compare. Either way, write down today’s rates, because they are about to become the only yardstick you have.
